Target Screening

For most companies the identification of suitable target companies is a challenge, especially in foreign markets. We support our clients in the structured, worldwide identification of suitable target companies for a takeover or strategic investment within the framework of the development of a “target list” and procure the information and data necessary for an assessment.

  • Definition of search criteria in a joint workshop with the client for the search of suitable target companies (e.g. industry segment, financial ratios, customer structure, geographic focus technology competence, patent activities).
  • Identification of suitable target companies based on the defined search criteria in Germany and abroad (depending on the client’s preference).
  • Determination of relevant data on the identified target companies via Z&C’s accessible databases and financial information services Standard & Poors CAPITAL IQ, ACURIS Mergermarket, Bureau van Dyk MARKUS.
  • On request, collection of information on worldwide patent activities of companies through the strategic partnership with the Cologne-based patent law firm Kutzenberger Wolff & Partner (e.g. for targeted search of technology competencies or assessment of potential market entry barriers).
  • Involvement of Geneva Capital Group’s international partner network to identify suitable target companies in international target markets.
  • Evaluation and prioritization of the identified target companies according to jointly defined criteria using the scoring tool developed by Z&C.
  • Presentation within the scope of a target list presentation with the desired and pre-defined level of detail.
