Zerbach & Company advised StoryDOCKS GmbH, Hamburg, on the admission of its new shareholder J.F. Müller & Sohn AG

With the admission of the investment holding company J.F. Müller & Sohn AG, StoryDOCKS, a Hamburg-based incubator for products and business models in digital storytelling, gains the support of a long-term-oriented partner within its shareholder group.

StoryDOCKS originally emerged as a spin-off from the publishing house Friedrich Oetinger, where today's managing director Till Weitendorf was already active in developing digital business models. The core of StoryDOCKS' activities lies in the development and marketing of digital technologies in the children's media sector. With TigerBooks, Framily, TigerCreate, Onilo and Readio, five business models and brands in this field are already operating under the StoryDOCKS umbrella. Together with the StoryDOCKS investors, further start-ups are to be supported in the future in founding and expanding strategically relevant business models. In addition, StoryDOCKS acts as an advisor for digital transformation in the publishing and media industry.

Zerbach & Company was mandated to find a suitable partner to promote the further growth of StoryDOCKS and its portfolio companies over the long term and to invest in innovative business models together with StoryDOCKS.

With the investment holding company J.F. Müller & Sohn AG, the StoryDOCKS shareholder group is strengthened by a long-term and independent partner with a 220-year history. The company, originally rooted in timber and port logistics, takes both majority and minority stakes in companies across industries throughout Europe. Alongside its stake in StoryDOCKS, the investment holding currently counts nine diversified companies in its portfolio.
